Download The Software
You must first download and install the software. This is a very small program that communicates with our servers and provides the filtering.

Go to SafeLinks.com and click the link "Try it Now". Fill out the requested information and you will be taken to a website with a link to the download. This download is a "zip" file. You will need to either save it to your desktop or open it directly. |

Install The Software
After you download the software install it to your hard drive.The software is very small and simply allows your computer to communicate with our servers which is where all of the filtering takes place.

Unless you know what you are doing and want to change the file locations you can simply click next to all of the screens and the software will install itself automatically. Once you click finish you must restart your computer.

Use The Software
Once you restart your computer Safe Links will start automatically if you choose to do so.
|
When Safe Links is running there is a small icon down by the clock. If you wish to unload it simply right click and choose "exit". That's it, you are filtering websites, pornography, spyware, viruses and other unwanted Internet content!

Configure The Software
There are a few settings that you should be aware of that you can set yourself.
|
Safe Links Software allows you to set a password so no one can change the settings. It also allows you to start the program with the computer or let's you choose when to start it yourself. Known as "auto start" this feature let's you decide when the program launches.Double Click the icon by the clock to launch Safe Links application and set the properties.

Blocking of Websites
Safe Links BLOCKS BAD WEBSITES including websites that contain viruses. If your website is blocked by accident here's what to do.

If Safe Links blocks your website you simply enter your user name and password to "override" the website. Once that happens our staff is notified and if the website is not bad we will allow it so it does not get blocked again.At this time only registered users can override. Trial users must contact our office.
